Meet Whitney!
Whitney is the owner and lead trainer of Central Ohio K9 Academy.
"I opened my own dog walking business, Walks with Whitney, in 2018. Soon after, I began to understand why some people saw walking their dogs as a chore, rather than a bonding experience. I witnessed a wide range of problematic behavior, such as reactivity, pulling me down the street, and snapping at the leash. I even had a few owners offer me a special harness to 'help the pulling' and more often than not their smart dogs would know just the right trick to escape it. My own dog, Mildred, was a dog who also loved to pull. It made walking my dog and my clients' dogs difficult."
After being introduced to the world of balanced training, Whitney was able to start learning more efficient ways of walking dogs. When you know better, you do better! Seeing the difference she could make in the dogs she was around made her desire to help more dogs and owners stronger. This was when she made the leap into becoming a trainer. "Having a well-behaved pup has added so much to my relationship with my own dogs and I love that I can help share that same joy with other dog owners!"

Whitney and Central Ohio K9 Academy is amazing! We were feeling overwhelmed by our puppy’s behavior and wanted to make sure he was trained properly from the start. We sent him for boarding and training for 2 weeks. Whitney exceeded our expectations on all fronts! Bodhi now stays in place, doesn’t jump, doesn’t mouth (on us), comes when is called, and walks obediently off leash. When dogs (or even bunnies) run by, he will stay as asked!

Whitney helped me train our new 9-month-old Yellow Lab, Toby. She did a lot of the training and “trained” me to continue in what she started with him. I had specific goals about training him as a pet and not for competition which she followed closely. She worked with my schedule and met all of my goals.
